Mission

  • Against a backdrop of a shift in the company’s activities from the development of application solutions to a higher value-added offering including consulting(Professional Services), this leading provider of information systems to the travel industry is looking to evaluate the current offering and positioning of TOPS Services, as well as its organization.
  • The assessment should be based on interviews with the internal management team (TOPS, MCG, Market Management and Marketing), as well as discussions with customers and external companies that have undergone the same type of business evolution – from product to business solution provider (e.g. SAP).

Approach

  • SWOT analysis according to 6 business areas:
    • Service offer.
    • Sales process.
    • Delivery process.
    • Organization and location.
    • Skills and expertise.
    • Image and Branding.
  • Analysis fed by interviews and comments from customers and reference companies.

  • Target positioning of “professional services” redefined along three axes:
    • Service offering.
    • Customer segments.
    • Geographic markets.
  • In the short term, TOPS Services ‘ deployment strategy is based on a pragmatic 3-level approach:
    • Proactive push strategy.
    • Opportunistic “pull” strategy.
    • Tactical leverage.
  • Specific deployment plans have been defined to implement actions designed to bring about improvements in the 6 main business areas analyzed.
