- New Caledonia’s leading energy authority would like to investigate the potential of using hydrogen to accelerate the territory’s energy transition.
- This study is part of the preparation for the construction of the territory’s new energy transition strategy.
Approach
- Preparing educational material on hydrogen for elected representatives: production, transport, storage, distribution, uses.
- Identify the potential uses of hydrogen in the region, based on the state of the art, in particular:
- Heavy sea and land mobility.
- Ore processing.
- Power grid flexibility.
- Assessment of the competitiveness of potential local green hydrogen production.
- Identify conditions for launching projects in the region.
Results
- “Hydrogen” roadmap, part of the region’s new energy transition strategy.
- Identification of pilot projects supported by the reference public authority.
